Our Story

A family business built on the smell of somewhere else.

Our story

The fall everything went quiet

In 2020 the concert and event industry shut down overnight. Devon had spent his career producing live events, and suddenly there weren’t any. What we missed most wasn’t the shows exactly — it was being there. The air, the crowd, the whole feeling of a summer night at an outdoor amphitheater.

So he asked the question that turned into a business: what if we could make a candle that smelled like you were almost really there?

Thirty-four versions later, we had it. Our neighbors were the test panel — we’d hand jars over the fence and wait for the verdict. When they started asking for more, we knew we had something.

“Every scent we make is trying to put you somewhere — a season, a place, a person, a moment you’d like back.”

— Sarah Roberts, owner

Who’s behind it

Sarah, Devon, Audrey & Jeremiah.

Sarah runs the business and pours every candle. She’s a two-time leukemia survivor and a stem cell transplant survivor, and she homeschools our two kids while keeping the whole operation going — which tells you most of what you need to know about her.

Devon still works in event production and handles the parts of the business that aren’t wax. Audrey and Jeremiah help with labels, quality control, and eating an unreasonable share of the candle-testing snacks.

We’ve been married more than twelve years and we’ve been making candles at the kitchen table for most of the last six.

How we make them

Three ingredients. That’s the list.

Soy wax

Grown, not drilled. Soy burns cooler and slower than paraffin, which means a longer candle and a cleaner burn. No petroleum byproducts in your living room.

Phthalate-free

We only buy fragrance oils formulated without phthalates. It narrows what we can work with and it takes longer to get a scent right. Worth it.

Cotton wicks

Simple, lead-free, and reliable. Trimmed to a quarter inch they burn clean and steady all the way down.
